The secretariat of the Cannes Film Festival (CFM) has revealed that Secretariat, its latest feature-length film, has been awarded a five-star CinemaScore.
The film was released on July 25 and the rating has been confirmed as an eight-star rating.
The CFM has not yet announced a release date for the film, but its director has previously said it would be released theatrically in the US on September 9.
CinemaScore scores are based on the performance of films in theaters and can be a powerful indicator of a film’s potential, as the film’s rating may suggest.
Secretariat is not the first film to be awarded a cinemaScore.
A previous Cannes film, The Secretariat of a Dead Man, scored an eight, and a number of films that were nominated for awards including Best Picture have scored an A- and a B.
Cameron Crowe and Michelle Williams are also expected to win the Academy Award for Best Actor for their performances in The Secretary.
